Over the four game tournament, the Racers saw qualifying victories against the North Pittsburgh Wildcats, Ft. Wayne Selects and a tie against the Sylvania Leafs. In the championship game, the Racers faced Sylvania again and this time won 7-2 in their best game of the season. Racer forwards Cole Kimmel, Micky Gillen and team captain David Shingler each recorded hat tricks over the tournament weekend, along with solid goaltending in each game from Brandon Krumper and Joe Sakowski. \"Our tournament victory was a total team effort with scoring output from all three forward lines and excellent defense. In the championship game against Sylvania, we defeated a tough Buckeye League competitor.
